Planning Ideas - Pitch

In class today, my group (me and Lauren) looked at some music videos on the Macs to get a brief idea of what music video we're going to choose for our project. we looked through a range of genre of songs from rock to hip hop and found a found that the best genre to suit for us would be something between rock and alternative. We found that if we did a song that was hip hop, there would be way too much going on and for just a group of two, may be too challenging to do as we put into consideration other work that we have to do for other subjects. In the end, me and Lauren agreed to do something that relates to the genre of rock and alternative. We looked through some of the song examples below:

This first example that I am going to show you is a band called Seether. They're an alternative rock band that aren't very well known. Because they're not very well known by a lot of people compared to really big artists such as Rihanna and Skrillex, we thought this would be one of our good choices for the choice of the song to do for our project.

Another song that me and Lauren looked at as a more older song. This next song I'm going to show you is R.E.M - The One I love.I thought that this song would be a good choice as it's a good song to lip sync too and it's not too hard to perform for. It has the basic instruments in it such as the guitar, bass and drums which me and Lauren thought about when choosing a song for our project. We know that choosing a rock/alternative rock band would be a good choice because we have access to equipment that is avaliable at the school music department where we can borrow the props to make a performance on the song genre.



Me and Lauren also looked at some other artists that were alternative that they were girl bands instead so we got a range of men singers and woman singers so we had a lot more variety to choose from, rather that just a man alternative rock singer. An example of woman singers that I managed to find and research were bands such as Lacuna Coil. Lacuna Coil are a metal band that are from Italy. There were other artists that we thought about such as Paramore and Fly Leaf but I found that the other two bands are too popular compared to Lacuna Coil.
